Reading is huge new event to be held at the Rivermead Leisure Complex located near Caversham Bridge on the northern side of Reading. It is 10 - 15 minutes walk from the station (be sure to leave the station by the northern exit, by the car park, and follow the signs towards Caversham).

Items on sale will include:- Books, Photographs, Postcards, Posters, Timetables (Working and Public), Publicity and Guides, Paperwork, Railwayana, Enamel, Lamps, Collectables, Cast Iron, Carriage Prints, Model Railways (old and new), Kit Built and Ready to Run, O/OO/N Gauge, Hornby, Bachmann, Lima, Hornby Dublo and Wrenn.

An unmissable event for anyone with an interest in railways, buses, trams etc.
Routemaster

A free Routemaster bus will operate between Reading Station and the Rivermead Leisure Complex. The first bus leaves the Station at 09:30 and runs to a 20 minute schedule until 12:30. The bus returns from Rivermead 10 minutes after leaving the Station. After a break for lunch to bus resumes at 13:40 from Rivermead to the Station, again at a 20 minute interval.

The whole of the Station area is undergoing a major revamp, which will continue until 2015. The works have moved on greatly since our last event, so this year’s arrangements will be substantially different from last. No traffic is currently allowed in Station Hill where the bus previously picked-up. All bus services that previously used it have been diverted, including a temporarily reopened former Alder Valley Bus Station. The Routemaster will pick up and set down from stop WG in the Bus Station. The Bus Station is on the south side of Station Hill at the bottom of the hill - about 150yds walk from the main exit from Reading Station. There are big signs outside the station pointing the way for those unfamiliar with the layout.

If your partner wishes to use the bus to travel into Reading while you are at Rivermead you are welcome to do this.

There is a large car park. Visitors to Rivermead get 50% of their parking fee refunded, see the ticket machines for details. Fees (as at June 2004) 3 hours £1, All-Day £5, reduced by 50%.

Sandwiches and light meals will be available and a bar will be open.
